Nave Birth Services
At Nave we offer support to womxn on topics that are often neglected: pre- and postnatal care, labour, and parenthood. Because these are some of the biggest transitions we go through in life.We believe in addressing these phases as a whole, not in isolation. And as each person’s circumstances are multifaceted, so are the varying degrees of support needed on physical, emotional and psychological levels.
My passion emerged from necessity – the rightful need for womxn to be informed and supported through all of life’s important milestones. After having my first child in 2013, I felt in a shift – both at ease with who I was and perplexed at how unsupported I felt throughout pregnancy and birth – I longed to be a catalyst for positive change. Since then, I've been on a path to learning more about the body and health, especially womxn’s bodies. As I mature with my growing family, my encouraging environment has led me to explore further the emotional and somatic realm, which in turn stimulates a desire to bring this relief to others. Movement has always been a big part of my life, having trained in 2014 as a yoga teacher, and since then trained further in specialities such as yoga medicine and pregnancy yoga. I then became a doula and birth coach in 2017. Although Nave launched in 2018, it’s been a long time coming. Two kids later and a wealth of experience working alongside my husband on their business Stretch, I'm ready to go all guns blazing. From the friends who helped with school pick ups, or the parents from school who dropped off wine and lasagne when I've been home with poorly children, I have felt supported in all ways. And now I feel compelled give back – to create a network of support for other womxn who need it.
